Meka learned of Paige in what rapidly became the usual way; through the gossip that quickly spread through the school. Well, the discovery of a fourth Charmed One was always going to be big news. Aside from the odd friendly smile if their paths did ever cross, he didn’t officially meet her until she started her freshman year. Meka isn’t exactly known for his social prowess and was forced to admit that being around Paige made him nervous. It took him a while to figure out that the reason was because he had a crush on the younger girl, but as soon as this realisation came into mind, it escalated quickly.

Meka tried to insert himself in the Halliwell circle of friends, and with a little help from his friend, Nick Jordan, he managed to strike up a decent conversation with Paige. He considers holding onto his breakfast a bonus. Throughout the day, he mulled over the idea of asking Paige to attend the back to school party with him that evening, but was worried that she’d turn him down because of their age difference. He was a junior after all. But, again with a little gentle encouragement from Nick, he timidly tried to find out if she was already going with someone. It astounded him to find that she had much the same sentiment and so Meka headed home on a high after she had agreed to meet him there.

The beginning of the party was great. Even though they were surrounded by Paige’s friends and classmates for the most part, he did manage to steal a short time with her alone. He didn’t complain, however, understanding that it’s all part and parcel of being involved in any sense with a Charmed One. He was with Paige when the attack started, when everything spiralled into chaos. He doesn’t remember exactly what happened during the attack, but he recalls vividly that Paige was hit with an energy ball and he took a darklighter’s arrow that could only have been aimed at her. Did it hurt? It hurt like hell, but he’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. The two did manage to share a kiss before they were forced to say goodbye, and it was what kept him from crumbling over the next few hours.

Meka likes Paige because of who she is, not [i]what[‘/i] she is. He is puzzled by people who look at her and only see the youngest Charmed One, for he knows that it’s just a small piece of the whole. He sees someone who is strong-willed and witty, determined and free-spirited and with a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts. He’s proud to stand by her side, even if it’s only as a friend—though, naturally, he hopes for more, because he doesn’t think he’ll ever tire of the way she makes him feel.

Addy met Paige on the youngest Halliwells’ first day of school when both girls were in the 8th grade. It rocked the magically community to learn that there was a fourth Halliwell sister, but it struck Addy that no one thought what effect it would have on Paige. She rapidly became what could only be described as a social pariah, with speculation abounding that her appearance would forever destroy the prophecy of the Charmed Ones, which caused most people to look on the thirteen-year-old as an outcast that should be shunned. Adelaide couldn’t really imagine how Paige must be feeling. There was suddenly a whole new family that she never knew she had, not to mention the revelation that magic was not only real, but that she was one of the most powerful witches to ever live. Thinking that quite a lot for a girl barely into her teens to shoulder alone, Adelaide introduced herself and the two have been friends ever since.

Their friendship blossomed quickly, with Adelaide finding in her somewhat of a kindred spirit, and the two soon became inseparable. As such, Addy began spending a lot of time at Halliwell manor with their closest friend, Lindsay Montana, usually hanging out with Phoebe, Kendra English and Cali Reed. Over time, Addy began to look upon Paige and Lindsay as her adoptive family, sharing the bond with them that she always longed to share with her own sister. She might not be the most magically gifted, but she’d defend her friends to the hilt—and has in the past when she’s overheard people making slanderous comments about Paige. Adelaide feels that Paige has a nonconformist and mischievous streak that speaks clearly to her own, which invariably leads them to trouble every now and then—but it’s never anything that they can’t handle.
