Hairspray was funny! Cheesy and being sick through the chat up lines yes, but funny too. Ok it's not the original, but still good. However please note if you go see you may need couceling after seeing John Travolta, as a woman, dancing, and kissing up to Christopher Walken (who I'm slightly scared of). That said James Marsden is there for someone pretty to look at! (OR Zac Efron if you prefer! Who by the way is only a year younger than me... scary!)
Anyhoo! It's funny and I hoped others liked it...

Like you said, Jox, it's certainly not the original. My love for Rikki Lake grew after I saw that movie for the first time [and Mrs Winterbourne, but that fuelled my desire for Brendan Fraser more! haha!]
I think that Zac Efron spoiled this version for me. He's just got one of those faces that you'd love to slap. Or maybe that's just me.
But kudos to the wonderful, the mighty, the eternal Chrissy Walken for another star performance. I'm strangely enamoured by that man . . .

Have you ever seen the other John Trovla movies? And even one of the older versions of Hairspray?
