DESCRIPTION:
Physical Description: The first thing that people usually notice about Adelaide is her hair. And, really, they’d have to be blind not to. Normally some unnatural shade of red, yellow, or orange—or sometimes even a combination of the above—she makes a statement with her hair like no other can. This isn't, as her father seems intent on assuring her, some kind of phase, or something she does to garner attention; it’s simply who she is. Addy believes herself a colourful and vivacious girl; why not let her appearance reflect that? Her hair is naturally poker straight, though she does liven it up by cutting it into choppy layers. Heavy bangs complete her look, and she is often seen sweeping them to one side so she can actually see what she’s doing. Might come in useful, that.
Addy has pale skin, so pale in fact that she is asked on an all too regular basis if she’s feeling okay. She normally she shrugs this off but being asked about her welfare grates on her nerves from time to time. She has small, almond-shaped hazel-green eyes that she always, always, always surrounds with a slick of black liner, and usually a smattering of colourful eye shadow. That this shadow normally clashes with her hair adds to her quirky appearance. Naturally pink, Adelaide’s lips are full and rarely far from a smile, and when she smiles it brightens her whole face, highlighting her chubby cheeks. At a mere 5’2, Adelaide is a small but fiery package. Naturally skinny—she’s been trying to gain a little weight to make her look healthier, but to no avail—she has a boyish frame, not yet developing the curves that she desperately wants.
Style: Addy likes odd things, such as bow ties with t-shirts, wearing patterns and colours that clash as well as dying her hair myriads of colours. She likes to express herself in any ways she feels at that particular moment, both verbally and in her sense of self. She doesn’t have a particular style per se, instead preferring to experiment with her wardrobe. This has meant that she’s had a fair few fashion faux pas, but Addy just chalks it all up to experience. She’s normally seen in bright colours, her favourites being green, purple, yellow, and orange—often all at the same time—and has a love of bold prints.
Looks Like: Hayley Williams
Personality: Adelaide is a strong-willed young lady, with a prominent sense of self. She has a good moral compass and prides herself on her ability to make the right choices. However, she has been known to raise her own special brand of hell, usually with her two closest friends. She tends to view things in a different light to most others and isn’t afraid of telling people how she sees things, but only if they ask. She’s not one for forcing her opinions on others, trusting them to find their own way. A very calm individual, it takes a lot to rile Addy and she can count on one hand the number of times she’s lost her temper. Each and every one of those times she’s regretted it later and apologised, though it’s usually her sister who she’s apologising to, with whom she shares a temperamental relationship at best.
She is a firm believer that one should never judge another on appearance or reputation, and actually uses the term ‘never judge a book by its cover’ a lot. She is open-minded and tries not to be judgemental, although has lapses every now and then. She’d simply rather learn for herself that she does or doesn’t like someone and not rely on the gossip and prejudgement by others. She’s found that she’s often been proven wrong by those who warn her away from certain people but she’s happy to make her own mistakes, believing that it’s learning from mistakes that make her a better person. Addy isn't the kind of girl to hold a grudge, but she will make her opinions known if she feels the need to. She's not exactly a wallflower and is more than capable of putting people in their place should the need arise.
Addy loves life and all that it entails. She even loves the hard parts knowing that whatever she has to go through will make her a stronger, better person. She treats life as a beautiful gift, and one that shouldn't be wasted, which is why she spends so much time trying to capture its beauty on paper. As well as making collages and writing dark poems, Adelaide is an avid artist, favouring sketching and working with watercolours. She’s rather protective of her work, letting only those closest to her view them, for she’s a little afraid that others won’t like what they see. If someone burst her little art bubble, she’d be devastated for it’s one of her passions in life. To have that taken away because she’d been told that she wasn’t good enough would hurt. Adelaide loves to have fun, believing wholeheartedly that only boring people get bored. For this reason, she’s pretty much always on the go, doing something.
She can often be seen with her nose in a book, although rarely anything to do with school. Nope, Addy and studying don’t exactly go hand in hand. This isn’t to say that she won’t do it; she can simply think of a dozen things that she’d rather be doing. She loves to read, mainly trashy romance novels, the ones about heroes and heroines, saving the day and getting the girl. An old romantic at heart, she is one of those people that firmly believe that everyone has a soul mate, that one special person that was made for you, and is constantly on a quest to find hers. So far, she’s had very little luck but isn’t above kissing a few frogs in order to find her prince.
Addy is fiercely loyal, willing to live and die for her closest friends, a group which is select but includes Paige Halliwell and Lindsay Montana who are practically her sisters. To her, friendship is everything and worth fighting for, and she’s willing to stand up and be counted should she feel she needs to or one of her friends need her to. She would never stand by and let a friend get hurt. That said, if someone betrays her trust, she'll likely never forgive them. She has been known to hold a grudge for the longest time and is stubborn beyond belief. Once she's made up her mind, its set and takes an unbelievably strong argument to sway her decision.

History: Adelaide was born in April of 1977, the second and final child to Justin and Analiese Perkins. It was only three months later that her mother left the family, and not only the family, but the heritage she'd grown up with. She was the last of her tribe—the others having been killed off by demons—until she met her husband, Justin. They had their two daughters, and Analiese Grey's Gypsy heritage would live on. Why she left her husband, who had no powers, with two young Gypsy girls they still don't know, and Addy doubts that she’ll ever know, something that took a young Addy a long time to accept.
She lives with her father, a mortal elementary school teacher, and older sister Althea, in a quiet suburb of San Francisco. She had a relatively quiet childhood, often spending her time in her room alone. She’s never had a particularly good relationship with her sister, who is everything that Addy is not: academic, responsible, motherly. A part of Addy resented her older sister, who assumed the maternal role in the house as she grew up. It wasn’t that she didn’t want her sister to be happy—and if shouldering all the responsibility for the goings on at home made her happy, that was fine by Adelaide—but she wanted a sister, not a mother figure, something that Althea doesn’t really understand.
She has attended Magic School her entire life, never knowing a ‘normal’ education. When her father heard tale of the school, he worked for months to try and get into contact with its headmistress. Leilani Mahala finally contacted them when Althea was just about to enter the first grade in public school. Althea started their first grade program, and Adelaide went to the preschool. This eased a lot of tension in the house, and their father felt they were getting the knowledge they needed to go with the abilities, of which he had limited awareness and no control.
Addy’s abilities began manifesting when she was a little over six years old. Her gift of foresight is the most prevalent power she has, and even now as a freshman she has little control over when she has a vision. What began as short, sharp glimpses of minutes into the future has over the years grown to be something that shows her days, even weeks ahead, in vivid, almost touchable visions. She doesn’t always understand the meaning of the visions and so keeps a notebook with her all the time to jot what she sees down, giving her time to go over it later and make sense of it. Control still eludes her, as much with foresight as her ability of viewing visions of the future on the surface of water, but she hopes that now she’s in high school, it’s something that she can be taught.
Adelaide met Paige Halliwell when the new witch/whitelighter first started at the school a little over eighteen months ago. It was a very big controversy at first, because the fourth sister disturbed the infamous prophecy. But the Charmed Ones weren't renounced of their powers or their title and were, in fact, stronger than ever. Adelaide took it upon herself to befriend Paige when more than half the school shunned her, and their future was still uncertain, feeling angered that the rest of the school seemed to think that treating the youngster like a social pariah was okay. Ever since then, they have been close friends. They compliment each others styles, and enjoy causing trouble for teachers.
