DESCRIPTION:
Physical Description: Celeste is of average height, standing at 5’7” and weighing a healthy 130 lbs. She isn’t pale, but she also isn’t tan. She’s somewhere in between with no facial blemishes. Celeste isn’t the strongest woman in the world, but she can handle her own along with another if push came to shove. Every part of her body is proportional and she’s very happy with her appearance. She has a long scar that starts at her hip and travels down in a crooked line to the base of her knee.
Style: Celeste prefers to be strictly professional at Magic School and she dresses accordingly. She will show up in an assortment of pantsuits with her hair hanging in gentle waves around her shoulders. But, even though she wants to appear professional, she just can’t manage to walk in heels, so she simply substitutes them with different colored Chuck Taylors.
When school isn’t in session, Celeste goes a little more casual with a t-shirt and jeans along with her trusty Taylors. However, she refuses to wear anything ripped, stained, or wrinkled because she is a clean-cut type of person.
Looks Like: Rachel Weisz
Personality: Celeste has two separate personalities. At Magic School she is the strict, clean-cut professor who does not believe in excuses or stalling, however, she is also a fun teacher when her students do as told. She has a gun-ho attitude about challenges presented to her by her students or vice versa. “Anything that can be thought up has a solution. You just have to search for it.”
When school is not in session or there is a special event going on, Celeste is a bit more free and energetic. She laughs a lot more and encourages anyone around her to have even more fun then they’re already having. But, she is still a clean-cut persona and refuses to do anything that would stain her clothes. “Come now, I know you can laugh louder than that!”
Celeste has a sisterly sort of trait to her. She doesn’t baby anyone like mothers do, but she still encourages and helps them like a sister. She loves everyone around her and would do anything for them, as long as it doesn’t include doing any of their homework for them. “I won’t do it for you, but I’ll be more than happy to help.”
She doesn‘t very much enjoy physical activity, but she loves reading and writing stories or poems. She‘s much more of an outdoor girl and prefers Spring over any other season.

History: Celeste was born and raised in France with her parents, her aunt and uncle, and her brothers and sister. However, when the oldest son, Adrien, turned five, they all packed up and moved to Chicago. Adrien began attending Magic School, followed by the rest of the Rush kids. Celeste got along well with almost everyone there and made friends with the more serious and focused students. Her favorite hang-out was the library in the poetry section. She enjoyed reading Edgar Allen Poe to anyone who would listen. Unfortunately, Celeste never had any romantic encounters in school.
She learned that she was extremely gifted in the telekinesis area, but not so much in the potion making. She didn’t enjoy vanquishing class, mostly because she never felt like she’d need to learn it, however she did do well in it.
When Celeste finally graduated with a 3.5 GPA, she moved away from her family with her brother Gaston and, together, they started their own clothing store, Needles and Threads, in Los Angeles, California. Gaston continued to attend Magic School while Celeste managed the store. Then, the fateful day came.
A Wendigo attacked the store on a day when her parents had decided to come and visit. While trying to protect her mother, Celeste was hurled through the store glass window and sliced her leg open on one of the sharp pieces. Her father was killed and her mother was seriously injured. They were all taken to the hospital where Celeste received several stitches and her mother was taken to the emergency room due to a cardiac arrest.
Celeste and the rest of the Rush-Casatt family managed to recovered from that horrible day, but continued to feel the pain from the loss. Soon after, Gaston graduated and took up his place as co-owner of Needles and Threads.
When the rest of the family moved back to France, she and Gaston expanded their stores, spreading to other parts of California. Finally, Gaston learned of the teaching position that was available and spoke to Celeste about it. They both agreed that Celeste should take the job, but that she should also continue designing clothing for the store.
After her third year at Magic School, Celeste met her current boyfriend, Cody. She had accidentally hit him with a flying flower pot. After she made sure he was uninjured, she asked him out on a date. He immediately accepted and they hit it off. They’ve been happily dating ever since and Cody is planning on moving in with Celeste in a few days.
Any Extra Information: Celeste has a tattoo of a Celtic knot crescent moon on the back of her left shoulder.
SAMPLE WRITING:
Celeste squeezed her eyes tighter, trying to block out the intense sunlight shining through her curtains. Groaning, she rolled over to check the time. The red lights flashed 5:34 a.m. at her.
“Good morning, Cheshire.” She said, stretching her arms over her head. Her huge, black cat climbed over her hips and bumped its head against her side. Celeste smiled and scratched him behind the ears before rolling out of bed.
“Cheshire, what should I wear today?” She asked, heading over to her closet and opening both of the wooden doors. Cheshire “me-uf-owed’ at her and jumped off the bed, padding out the door and down the hall.
“Fine. Don’t help me.” Celeste giggled, turning to her many articles of clothing.
She sorted past the pantsuits and grabbed a bright green t-shirt and a faded pair of blue jeans. She took her time dressing, smoothing out any wrinkles. She slipped on a pair of socks followed by her trusty Chuck Taylors, yellow this time.
“What was I supposed to do the moment I woke up?” She asked herself, brushing her hair and pulling it into a ponytail.
“Something about calling someone.” She continued to mutter, heading down the hall and into the kitchen. She absentmindedly poured some food into Cheshire’s bowl for him and poured herself a glass of orange juice before grabbing the newspaper and sitting on one of the barstools.
She slowly sipped the juice while reading the comic section, her favorite part of the newspaper. Suddenly, her head snapped up and she dropped the paper.
“Liana!” She cried, throwing herself out of the chair and into the living room. She narrowly missed trampling Cheshire, who let out a loud hiss. Celeste grabbed the phone off the table and dialed her sisters number.
“Hello?” A voice asked in French.
“Hi Jorie! How’s my sister?” She asked, also in French.
“Ah! Celeste! She’s just fine! Our little baby is a boy.” Jorie replied, obviously smug about the fact that he had a baby boy now.
“That’s magnificent! I can’t believe I’m finally an aunt! Of course, Adrian and Veleria are expecting. I heard it was supposed to be a girl.” She said, sitting down in her comfy chair and pulling her knees up to her chest.
“Ah, yes. I heard that too. I’m so excited for them. Married a year and already they’re expecting. Speaking of marriage, when are you and Cody going to tie the knot? Soon, I hope.” Jorie said. Celeste could practically see him winking all the way in France.
“Jorie, you know I have no control over when he proposes.” She replied, rolling her eyes. Celeste, actually, was very content on remaining boyfriend and girlfriend for as long as Cody saw fit. She was in no hurry to become Mrs. Celeste Edmonia Rush-Sanders.
“Yes, yes, yes. I know. You’ve told me millions of times before. Oh, it’s time for the baby to be fed. I have to go.” He said.
“Alright then. Give my love to Liana and-” Celeste trailed off, realizing she hadn’t asked what they had named the new addition to the family.
“Gaspard. Gaspard Abelino Oreia.” Jorie filled in.
Celeste felt her eyes begin to burn and her stomach turn back flips.
“Thank you, Jorie. That was sweet of you. I know you wanted to name him Adaire.” She said, wiping her eyes furiously.
“Nah. Gaspard is a much better name. Anyway, I have to go. Love you.” He said.
“Love you, too.” Celeste replied. She heard the faint click of Jorie hanging up and repeated the action. She rubbed the rest of the tears away from her cheeks and smiled.
“Cheshire, what do you say we surprise Cody and bring him some of those homemade cookies he likes so much?”
