Powers: Telekinesis, Astral Projection

DESCRIPTION:
Physical Description:
Prue possesses the infamous Halliwell coloring, just as her sisters - the straight, thick brown hair; dark, observant eyes; an oval face with defined features. Preferring to keep her hair cropped a bit shorter than her sisters, hers falls just barely brushing her shoulders as she moves about. Her eyes, set in an almond shape underneath brows often arched in a challenge, are a dark hazel. Her nose is a bit long, but suits her face and often reminds people of her mother – a compliment that is not always taken well . Just to the right of her nose, there is a small birthmark - a brown dot just below her eye, small enough to not always be noticed upon first seeing her. Her facial structure is just a bit more pronounced than her sisters'. She has an average frame and figure - not quite as hour-glass shaped as Paige, or as small as Phoebe, or as tall as Piper. Prue's body curves gently over her five-foot-three frame, the soft appearance belying the hard angles toned by the martial arts she practices, as well as the time spent running - between running from demons, chasing them, the time spent in vanquishing class, and her morning jog before school, she's in good shape.
Style:
Quick. Easy. Flexible. With an edgy sense of style, Prue knows how to dress, and well. While not a wild dresser like her two youngest sisters, she enjoys expressing who she is through her wardrobe. Not to mention that mode of dress is just as important as knowing how to kick demon ass -- it's pretty difficult to do that if you're wearing a rippable skirt and teetering on ridiculous heels. Comfort, style, and that subtle hint of "I can vanquish you faster than you can even begin to think about hurting my family" -- it's all in the balance. She keeps a small heart hanging from a silver chain on her neck at all times - a gift from her mother. Her clothing is form-fitting, but never distasteful - never too tight, too short, or too, well, insane. Being of a practical nature, her outfit will never just look good, as she knows how often and quickly demons attack. Because of who she is, and because of the young woman she must appear to be, even she has her doubts, Prue carries herself with an air of purpose. She's confident - at the very least appearing to be, during her more self-conscious moments - and knows what she's capable of.

Personality:
Prue Halliwell isn’t the type to just sit down and watch, and never has been. This girl much prefers action, and while she won’t rush into a situation without thinking it through logically, that isn’t to say that her logic is perfect. In truth, Prue’s logic is often very flawed. The pressure she puts on herself to be the best in all that she does has made her more than a little over ambitious, and headstrong. At times she can be a little impulsive, but once she’s made her choice, she is very stubborn, and isn’t about to be talked into changing her mind for anything. Prue is very strong-willed and determined in all that she does – not just when it comes to demons and magic.
While she can be very intense and forceful, Prue’s got her weak points. She would do anything for her family, or for Andy – and in many cases, believes it to be her responsibility. Prue has a strong sense of duty – to her family, to the Charmed destiny laid upon her shoulders. And while she has gone through her phases – a few months of being a bit wild, and along the way, there have been stretches of time when she doubted. Was she good enough? Why was she even working so hard? But no matter what her attitude or the state of her self, she always knew that she had a duty to her family, and everything that came with it, including her destiny. By the time they had found Paige, she had already accepted it all head on, and wouldn’t be giving it up for anything. From the point that Prue was able to truly comprehend what being a witch, and a Charmed One, really meant – about ten years now – she has been prideful, occasionally to the extent of being a bit haughty, but for the most part it has just given her an extra boost of confidence in her abilities.
Prue is often very blunt. She isn’t shy, and won’t hesitate to say what’s on her mind, most times. She tends not to tolerate attitudes very well – namely, Phoebe’s, to be honest – and can be quick-tempered when it comes down to it. By those who don’t know her very well, she could probably be seen as a hard-ass – severe, and sometimes difficult, when it comes to people not taking anything seriously. She appears exceptionally disciplined in comparison and simply doesn’t see a reason for someone to seem to only ever want troublesome situations.
For all her disapproving of certain attitudes, Prue has always been relatively kind to most – that is, up until the dance that changed everything. Even before she was taken away, Prue had begun to get a bit snappy at people, even her family, for little to no reason at all, and was blowing things off – Andy, not to mention her schoolwork, friends, and even some of her responsibilities. She’s been on edge ever since, and now she’s not even sure if it’s to fool Dorjan or if she’s just fooling herself. She’s doubting herself more and more with each day spent in the Underworld, surrounded by Dorjan and those like him. Prue doesn’t enjoy entertaining thoughts that perhaps she’s losing herself and that she might not be strong enough to do this on her own, after all, but they are plaguing her.

History:
The most logical place to begin when talking about Prudence Halliwell's life is well before she was actually born. Far into the past, at the beginning of the Halliwell line - with Melinda Warren, who was born in 1670, and had three powers – the ability to freeze time, the ability to see into the future , and the ability to move objects , the three powers that she would hand down through her descendants. Melinda bore a daughter - Prudence, whom Prue is named for - and was betrayed by her lover, a warlock. The day Melinda was set aflame during the Salem Witch Trials, she spoke the prophecy that made Prue who she is, all these centuries later: "You may kill me, but you cannot kill my kind. I vow that with each generation Warren witches will grow stronger, culminating in the arrival of three sisters. These three sisters will be the most powerful witches the world has ever known. They will destroy all kinds of evil and shall be called the Charmed Ones."
In the decades and centuries that followed, each generation did grow stronger and stronger, until an unseasonably warm fall day. On October 28, 1973, Patricia Halliwell gave birth to Prudence Marie Halliwell. Then came her sister, Piper, a year later, but it wasn’t until Prue was three that Patty realized who her daughters were, when she found out she was pregnant with Phoebe. But even before it was discovered that Prue was the first born of the Charmed Ones, she had the beginnings of a wonderfully witchy childhood – with that healthy balance of mortal normalcy, thanks to her parents wanting that slice of a normal life for them. Prue has always been close to the members of her family – when she was young, her grandmother, mother, and father lived with her, and she was close to each of them. During Prue’s toddler years, Grams had started fighting with Victor, saying that the girls’ father could never protect his daughters, being a mere mortal. Things were strained between her parents even before Phoebe’s birth – and only got worse. Prue had loved her father, but he left, and so she began hating him for it.
She was the eldest, and therefore, in charge whenever her mother or Grams wasn't around. She liked being the one to call the shots, if even for just that short little while. Prue was a generally carefree child, though, all the way until her first year at Magic School. She'd been going to Camp Skylark each summer - and had been even looking forward to going again after her first year at the school. She loved the camp, and she loved school. Both were so much fun! Unfortunately, one of these weren't going to be a love for her - or even part of her life - for much longer. When her mother died, Prue was devastated. Both a fortunate and unfortunate thing was the last words she ever said to her - I love you. They always say to let your loved ones know how you feel, for you never know which second will be the last... but since that day, Prue hasn't been able to say them to anyone else.
She remembers it very clearly. Walking out onto the pier, where there were all these people - people she didn't know, important people, talking in hushed tones, not paying attention to the small child wandering towards the body bag being zipped around the corpse of the victim. Just as they were beginning to close around her face... "Is that the little girl? Get her out of here!" And Prue saw her mother, eyes closed, much too still. Calling out "Mommy! Mommy!", they carted her off the dock. And that was it. Her mother was gone -- drowned. And now she was supposed to be in charge, just like when mom was away. Sure, Grams was there, but she needed help. And that was her job. Her responsibility. Prue started growing up real fast then. By the time she was in her freshman year at Magic School, she'd grown into that sense of duty, and was determined to be as strong, as good, as she could possibly be. She was Prue, the oldest, the Charmed One; she had to be the best.
There was no other option for her - she was who she was, wasn't she? People always said the oldest siblings had some pressure to be the best. Those oldest siblings also weren't the firstborn in a generation of witches destined to save the world time and again, complete with a prophecy. There would always be more pressure for Prue, and from time to time, she's cracked a little. No one's perfect, and Prue's far from it - however she tries to act towards the rest of the world - so sometimes it's a bit much. She isn't the sort to start crying in the middle of a battle against evil, but after, sometimes, when the threat is past and the adrenaline's fading away, there are moments that it gets to her. But she won't let those weak moments get her down. It proves her humanity, and she wouldn't be as good as she is without those soft spots. They remind her to get her ass back off the ground and start fighting again.
Prue's senior year didn't start out in the very best of ways. It had begun as just another year, as you'd expect. Very... normal. She was a senior, it was her last year in Magic School. But, of course, little was ever "normal" for them. How could it be, with demons around every corner? And now this. The “safe” school had been infiltrated by evil. A student, Kesi – someone Prue had known for yearshad let this Dorjan demon into what many termed their safe haven. Prue saw that the best course of action for getting rid of Dorjan had to be his own plan: infiltration. It made perfect sense. He reeled in Kesi, she would reel him right in, too. It would take a little bit, she could see that, but it would be worth it. She could lure him away from killing even more students, in exchange for her loyalty. Unfortunately, she had to prove it. Prue killed two students that night – Whitelighters-to-be; innocents. It wasn’t right – and there were rumors swirling about not an hour after the confusion had cleared. Had that really been Prue? By that point, she didn’t need Andy, she didn’t need to talk to her family. The Elders soon saw that they had to take away Prue, but their plan to sweep her to a safe place was circumvented by Dorjan, who stole her away to the Underworld, cut off from her friends and family and the influences of good that she’s lived with her entire life, and no one but the Elders even know that she’s living among demons.
